My Background

I’ve been a dedicated horse person ever since I can remember. Growing up I spent every minute I could at the yard, just as I do today! When I was 16 I left school to be a riding groom in pursuit of becoming a professional showjumper. To my surprise, I quickly missed studying. My commitment to horses, working with people and interest in science made Veterinary the most suitable career I could have. During my training I continued to ride and work within the industry. I believe my greatest attribute as an equine vet is knowing both sides of the coin, I am as much a horse owner and rider as I am a vet. I understand firsthand how important horses become and how expensive they are to keep! I understand the highs and lows of being a competitive rider - is there a sport more frustrating and rewarding?! I also understand the challenges involved in running an equine business, and the implications of keeping horses for a livelihood not leisure.
